About the Work

On my second visit to South Africa in 1994, I was taken by my host to see a holiday resort called Sun City. It consisted of a challengingly eclectic and lavish gaming hotel in the middle of a game park. Its tone was Las Vegas and definitely pre-President Mandela.
The urinals were packed with fresh ice. While large Afrikaners pissed on the melting ice, a black janitor quickly replaced what had been lost.
