Synopsis
This decade was taken up making photo-collages which I would usually construct from photos taken with a telephoto lens. My themes were political/historical and I would usually go to a place where something important had happened but where time had passed on e.g. Site of the Assassination of President Kennedy (1980) - literally in the case of Greenwich Mean Time (1983). I showed my works at many galleries in Britain and when I moved to America I had a retrospective of them. I combined making Manifest Destiny (1986) with making a TV documentary about how and why it was made.
