About the Work

At the end of a huge avenue in Buenos Aires stands a monument to those Argentine troops who lost their lives in the Falklands war with Britain in 1982. When I arrived, a desultory guard of honour was in place.
At the other end of the avenue, a 19th-century monument was being renovated. Its statues were wrapped for protection in black plastic.

″I still use the same approach to my work: I get an idea, think of the title and then make the work. So not much has changed since 1964″
